I haven't read all of your post Scott, but last year I bought your book about how to speed up an XP windows, did a few things and then ordered more memory from Crucial (and here I will tell you that I have installed memory several times in the past), but I opted to be "careless" and not buy a grounding thingy, and fried my wife's motherboard! $150.00 later, she's still without the memory, but at least she's online!

I was one of those who was "scared" to upgrade the RAM in my laptop but it was really simple. I went to CRUCIAL.com as you suggested, ordered the RAM and had it within 3 days. The price was much cheaper than any of the local "big box" stores. I think it took me all of 5 minutes to take out the old and put in the new.
